LEIRÁ

Arina wakes up at 6 a.m. She eats 3-day old bread and drinks a cup of coffee. After her breakfast, she wakes the kids around 7 a.m.. She prepares each kid’s lunch and brings them to school on foot. Then she goes back home and she cleans up the breakfast table. She starts washing the dishes. Thereafter she cleans the house and keeps doing that the whole day long.

 

During the day, she smokes a lot of cigarettes to relieve stress. No one knows about that because it’s not allowed to smoke in their religion. She has to pick up the kids again at school at 4 p.m. When she’s home with the kids she starts cooking supper.

 

Then her husband comes home after a long day’s work at the factory and he is in a very bad mood. He starts beating her because the meal isn’t ready yet. She still has the bruises from the night before so it hurts even more. In the evening, her husband goes to the local football game so she has a bit of rest, because the children are already sleeping. She relaxes while doing the dishes again. She goes to bed at 11 p.m. so she gets 7 hours of sleep.
